Sensory Bags for Advocates for Children CASA

To create a fun and interactive activity kit for CASA volunteers to take to the children they are working with. These kits may be used by the children as they wait for their court hearing, visit with their parents in a supervised setting, or just to have some fun with their CASA volunteer.

The child welfare system can be confusing and lonely at times. These activity kits will provide some much-needed distractions and will allow for these kids to feel just as they should - like kids!

These kits will be gifted to children who are involved with Advocates for Children CASA. CASA stands for Court Appointed Special Advocates. These community volunteers, or CASAs, are trained to advocate on behalf of children who are involved in the child welfare system as a result of abuse or neglect. Most of these kids are in out-of-home placements such as foster care, group homes, or kinship care.

1. Locate the instruction sheet included with your kit.

  • Find your Kynd Code. Tear the code in half.
    • Save your half.
    • Put the other half aside to put into the completed kit.

*The Kynd Code allows you to post your finished kit on KyndHub. The recipient code allows them to find your post, connect with you, and share their gratitude for your kyndness. If the recipient uses their code, you'll get to see where your kit ends up and who benefited from it.

With the CASA kits, the trained, court-appointed advocate can help the children navigate to your post and connect.

2. Complete the gratitude practice included in your KyndKit.
